”For the Lord will certainly make for my lord an enduring house, because my lord fights the battles of the Lord…”
With the coming of covid19, a number of businesses and workers have been tagged as essential service providers because of their direct involvement in the fight against this pandemic. It is important for us to pray for such people because of the risks involved in their work.
Similarly, the Bible also provides us with some essential service providers whose relevance goes beyond this life.
- Men like David, who fight God’s battles.
We need more men like David in our generation, who will stand to defend the cause of the kingdom. Just as Abigail predicted in the scripture quoted above, God establishes a dynasty for such men.(1Samuel 25:28). May you be one of them! - Preachers and teachers.
The Bible says the elders who direct the affairs of the church deserve double honour, especially those whose work is that of preaching and teaching the word (1 Tim 5: 17). True Gospel preachers are worthy of double honour. - Loyal servants who faithfully serve in God’s house.
Jesus said, “But you are those who have continued with me in my trials. And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me, that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom” Luke 22: 28-29.
Dear friend, even though the world may not list you among its essential service providers, know that once you serve in whatever capacity you find yourself in, to promote God’s agenda here on earth, you are of a higher calling, and your reward is eternal.
The Bible says : ”For God is not unjust to forget your work and labour of love which you have shown towards His name…” (Heb 6: 10).
Go ahead and be on the frontlines of promoting the kingdom agenda. You will be richly rewarded.
